The rich don't really know

Rowan    How can a party that allows a shallow inexperienced ideologue like Malcolm Turnbull become prime minister / I thought they were tougher than that

Mache : It's what all parties have to do to appeal to the margins. Have a nice looking bloke who talks simplicities but knows nothing and can be pushed around when the election is over,  and realism takes over.

Rowan  So how did all these other wolves in sheep clothing get into the party?(Rebels who resisted the adoption of the religious Discrimination Bill 10th Feb 2022 )  Haven't the left got the numbers to do what they like ?

Mache   yes but they don't have the intellectual grip.   They don't really know what they wanna do ?  remember they are reactionaries;  they seldom  have a view of how to construct things

Rohan  Doesn't say much for the libs though allowing the single minded disnegeniuos into the fold . Many of its adherenets s are big picture thinks and know a bi about how to construct and create

Mache I think the poverty of both parties has eroded under the influence of the ignorant and ephemeral desires of those at the margins .

The people  have no confidence in politicians;; that's the key and the reality of not standing up straight all the time --to watch those Premier'splay dice with covid numbers is enough to remind us that the children are in charge

Rohan  yes  which  is all the more reason Morrison needs to stand up and confess that the only way forward is working together.  No back foot reactionary stuff.
No more koalas and soft concession  stuff
Morrison  needs to State his commitment to realistic energy supply problems and top it off with MORE
--we are unlike Labor going to review education support so that our children learn to be confident and not the products of easy cynicism  A vote for labor is a vote of no confidence in their approach to funding whatever children feel like .

Without insight we are just as likely to make the same mistakes as our forebears

I had reason and opportunity this  week to advise the Libs about a move they make before the opposition do . A move that the Left won't think of themselves being highly reactionary , but one I hoped the Conservatives would recognise before I have to encourage someone to see sense. Polys don't like admitting they don't know .

Even though I had 20 minutes of wrapped  attention before Parliament dealt with the order of the day, I  have my doubts they will take the gift I offered them .= A way out and a way forward for the vexed issue of environmental assessment. .

I realized after an open discussion that the hardest decision anyone or any party has to face is to say they were wrong .

And even bigger,  the decision to reinstate the right. It appears the Libs just won't give up easily there welded on nonsense that "the market knows best" and that the people are best served by allowing Councils to field field complex questions they have no skills to so do .
.I have over the years given more than a few days to the idea of pointing out their error in buck passing their need to know - just quietly . About fed up with being nice .

As you do,  if don't want to blame the system,  you have to name the idiot;  at worst the idiot  in charge . Now I will give them a week before I take another step to get common  sense .    The man still speaks  and people still listen - such is the poor state of listening in our country They want it simple .

Should you ever become Minister. Where to get help

A few tips :  If you don't acknowledged that you are as only as good as the advice you get , you needn't read any further . Machevellain princes should not be allowed to read this because they are sure to remember the contents,  but forget the context - technicolour yawns all around when the thing doesn't work because its not implemented properly. Best to  leave if she/ he ever gets  this close to the truth .
No Minister should assume the methods below will actually work- You  enter this game at your own risk
Pick one of the options:
A The Public servants have been cultivated to speak as independent professionals
1. As this is now rare in many controversial  portfolios like environment  , we will move to B. See me if you think you are lucky enough to be looking after A . Any such  leader will at least have some professional credibility with people at the workface ( that is , the real workface,  should you have any).    Have a party and celebrate . You are a lucky man.

B  The public servants have been cultivated and promoted in a culture of control by your party.
This is most likely if your party has been in power for more than one term

The public servants have been cultivated and promoted in a culture of control  control by a change everything often philosophy.

D You know something is seriously wrong with the attitude of the PS to problem solving in the field , but you are not sure what you can do about it .
This tragic cul de sac is increasingly the reality .At least You know where you are - cf above . The numbers of ways which the service can duckshove and weave is staggering  .You need to know where they are and what they are hiding.
Reducing Snowing .If your advisors and there advisors can't answer your questions on one page dismiss them . Leave the rest on the computer . Any guideline documents will be subject to wide public scrutiny before publication.

Its snowing heavily
